Mark Vialpando was born and raised in Southern Colorado. He attended Aguilar School through fifth grade before his family relocated to the big city of Walsenburg. Mark attended St. Mary’s Middle School and graduated from John Mall High School. From there, he continued his education attending Regis University in Denver. Colorado where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
After graduating from Regis, Mark began a long career in Human Resources which took him from Colorado to Wyoming to California and back again. In 2000 he became weary of the city life in Denver and moved to Pueblo where his parents had retired. It was here that Mark began his teaching career at Goodnight School. He remained at Goodnight, teaching fifth and sixth grades for 16 years.
Mark and his wife Loretta have decided to move even closer to his roots and he was very excited to start the next chapter of his teaching career at Gardner School for the 2017 – 2018 school year. He is an avid outdoorsman with a special appreciation for fly fishing and he has discovered that his move to Gardner has offered him the best of both worlds.
