Pam Levie

Pam Levie ~ Principal

Pam Levie began teaching just after graduating from Fort Lewis College in 1980. Pam later earned her Master’s in Education from Lesley University. She has been teaching in the district for 37  years.  Pam often tells the story of how she has taught three generations of a Gardner family. Her entire career has been with Huerfano RE1, except a few years ago she taught in an exchange program in  Australia. Pam is known to be a firm teacher, but she is kind-hearted and thinks of all of her past students as, “her kids.” She loves to teach children to read books that help them see a bigger world and expand their views. Watching students write from their hearts is one of her biggest satisfactions. She became the principal in 2015.

You will see Pam’s car parked at the school on the weekends, but Pam has many pleasures beyond work. Her two daughters and new son-in-laws are her pride and joy. She loves to travel, especially by pedal bike, or on horseback. Staying close to home is a pleasure too. She gardens, bird watches, cloud watches, star gazes, and spies wildlife in her back pasture.  Pam enjoys hiking in the nearby mountains and collecting trash on the side of the Redwing Road. A word of advice, “Don’t let Pam catch you littering.”
