Re-1 Flood Evacuation Procedures

Dear Parents,

We would like to inform you at this time of our flood evacuation procedures. When we receive a code red or the town siren goes off we will begin our evacuation and reunification plan.

All students from John Mall and Peakview will be evacuated to the Peakview gym. Walsenburg students that attend Gardner school will be transported from Gardner school to Peakview gym. Students that live in Gardner and attend school in Walsenburg will be transported to Gardner school gym where you will be able to pick up your child. When all students and staff are accounted for we will begin our reunification with parents.

Notification will be sent by robocall and other media sources to notify you of the evacuation and reunification. Please do not come to the school until you have received notification to come and pick up your child.

Which means at this time, we need to have all updated contact information. This is very important to us to be able to reunite you with your children. When you come to pick up your child remember to bring identification with you. Please tell any of your contacts on your child’s emergency card that they should also bring identification to be able to pick up your child.

When arriving at the school, please follow the direction of the staff that will be dressed in safety vests. Our goal is to reunite families together safely. We thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at the district office.

Sincerely,

Rhonda Hribar, Bookkeeper
Risk Management Coordinator
