*PUBLIC NOTICE* - NOTICE OF FINAL SETTLEMENT
HUERFANO SCHOOL DISTRICT RE-1 NOTICE OF FINAL SETTLEMENT

PURSUANT TO CRS 2024, 38-26-107

SUBJECT:

Huerfano Peakview ES and Gardner ES Roof/HVAC Upgrades Nunn Construction 201 E. 5th St, Walsenburg, CO 81089

Final settlement to Nunn Construction, Contractor, will be made by Huerfano School District Re-1 on May 21st, 2026 for and on account of the contract for the construction of the above referenced project.

Any person, partnership, association or corporation which has unpaid claims against said Contractor for or on account of furnishing of labor, materials, team hire, sustenance, provisions, provender, rental machinery, tools, equipment or other supplies or services used or consumed by said Contractor or his subcontractors in or about the performance of the above mentioned project, may at any time up to and including said date and time of final settlement file a verified statement of the amount due and unpaid with Huerfano School District Re-1, 201 E 5th St, Walsenburg, CO 81089 via email to accounting@huerfano.k12.co.us.

Failure on the part of a claimant to file such statement prior to final settlement date and time will relieve Huerfano School District Re-1 from all and any liability of such claim as provided by law.

Final settlement to Nunn Construction, Contractor, will be made by Huerfano School District Re-1 on May 21st, 2026 for and on account of the contract for the construction of the above referenced project.

District Mass Messaging - Robocalls
WJSHS, Gardner and Peakview Families: Due to unforeseen circumstances, our mass communication ("robocall") service, Intouch, will no longer be available after Friday April 10th.

As we work to secure a replacement provider, we will share any important notifications on our district and school Facebook pages, as well as the district website, for the remainder of the school year.

January Illness
Good afternoon Peakview Families. Tutoring for this evening has been canceled. Due to the rise in illness and confirmed cases of Influenza-A, Peakview School will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, January 21st and Thursday, January 22nd. In addition to our regular sanitizing procedures we will taking additional sanitizing measures over the next couple of days. Thank you for your help in keeping our students and staff healthy.

UPDATE: WJSHS will be operating on remote learning status for Wednesday January 21st and Thursday, January 22nd, 2026.

TWO Hour Delay for Walsenburg Jr. Sr. High School and Peakview School for Thursday, December 4, 2025.

No Peakview Preschool.

WJSHS first hour begins at 9:50AM

Peakview starts at 9:50AM

For bus students: If you normally catch the bus at 7:30, the two hour delay time will be 9:30. Just add two hours to your normal time.
